Your arrival in Berlin

++ Public transportation & ticketing ++

Public transportation system can seem a bit confusing, when you don’t know the city, so here is a little guide for you:
S-Bahn / U-Bahn: Trains / Underground networks
RB and RE: regional trains
M: trams
Recommended taxis: Uber (app) or Taxi Berlin (App or call +49 30 202020)
++ Ticketing ++

You can buy tickets at the ticketing machines found in every S-Bahn, U-Bahn station and tram. If you travel within the city borders, you need a ticket for AB zones. The ticket is valid for all public transportation.

Single ticket: Valid for 2h, single direction, unlimited transfers, 2.80€
Short trip ticket: Valid for 3 S-Bahn or U-Bahn stops. And for 6 tram or bus stops with no transfer, 1.70€
Day ticket: Valid until 3am the next day of it’s validation, any direction, unlimited transfers and any transportation, 7.00€

See all available ticket types here.

Don’t forget to stamp your ticket before you get into the train. You will find the stamp machine next to the ticket machine. Otherwise it is not valid.
Berlin is really keen on transport sharing. Try one of many bike sharing apps, car sharing apps, e-scooter apps and e-roller apps!
++ Your connection from the airport ++

From Berlin Schönefeld Airport

Ticket: Zone ABC, (get it at the ticket machine and don’t forget to stamp it)
The easiest connection to the city is with the S-Bahn (S9, S45).

From Berlin Tegel Airport

Ticket: Zone AB, (get it at the ticket machine and don’t forget to stamp it)
There are no rail connections from this airport so you have to take one of the buses by the terminal A and B.
